Painter Norbert K. Grčar

Norbert K. Grčar was born in 1956 in Krakow, Poland. He studied art privately with Professor Jan Rzehak in Krakow from 1968- 1979. After completing secondary school he took part in the restoriation of the Altar of Saint Jan Kanty in the Collegium Maius Museum at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. This restoration work was carried under the auspices of Proffesor Dr. Karol Estreicher. In 1979 he returned to his native home in Slovenia (former Jugoslavia), to study theology. In 1982 he was forced to leave his homeland for political reasons. He received an asylum in Austria and settled in Salzburg. Since 1995 he lives back in Slovenia in his own house in Kobdilj, the Karst region. Norbert K. Grčar has presented his pictures on more then 40 one- man several collected exhibitons in France, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland and Slovenia. His works are gathered in numerous private collections all over Europe. Home Page Of a Painter
