Ostatnie zmiany

• Growth features are now deployed to almost all Wikipedias. For the majority of small Wikipedias, the features are only available for experienced users, to test the features and configure them. Features will be available for newcomers starting on 20 September 2021.
• MediaWiki had a feature that would highlight local links to short articles in a different style. Each user could pick the size at which "stubs" would be highlighted. This feature was very bad for performance, and following a consultation, has been removed. [1]
• A technical change was made to the MonoBook skin to allow for easier maintenance and upkeep. This has resulted in some minor changes to HTML that make MonoBook's HTML consistent with other skins. Efforts have been made to minimize the impact on editors, but please ping Jon (WMF) on wiki or in phabricator if any problems are reported.

Problemy

• There was a problem with search last week. Many search requests did not work for 2 hours because of an accidental restart of the search servers. [2]

• The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 21 September. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 22 September. It will be on all wikis from 23 September (calendar).
• The meta=proofreadpage API has changed. The piprop parameter has been renamed to prpiprop. API users should update their code to avoid unrecognized parameter warnings. Pywikibot users should upgrade to 6.6.0. [3]

Przyszłe zmiany

• The Reply tool will be deployed to the remaining wikis in the coming weeks. It is currently part of "Narzędzia dyskusji" in Beta features at most wikis. You will be able to turn it off in Editing Preferences. [4]
• The previously announced change to how you obtain tokens from the API has been delayed to September 21 because of an incompatibility with Pywikibot. Bot operators using Pywikibot can follow T291202 for progress on a fix, and should plan to upgrade to 6.6.1 when it is released.

Ostatnie zmiany

• Bardziej efektywna metoda przesyłania zmian z Wikidanych do innych projektów została włączona na następujących 10 wiki: mediawiki.org; Wikipediach: włoskiej, katalońskiej, hebrajskiej i wietnamskiej; francuskim Wikisłowniku; angielskich: Wikipodróżach, Wikibooks, Wikisłowniku i Wikinews. Jeżeli w którymś z tych projektów zauważysz, że zmiany z Wikidanych wyświetlają się w nieprawidłowy sposób na ostatnich zmianach lub Twojej liście obserwowanych, daj znać programistom.

Zmiany nadchodzące w tym tygodniu

• Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 5 października, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 6 października, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 7 października (harmonogram).
• Niektóre gadżety i boty, korzystające z API do odczytu rejestru filtra nadużyć, mogą przestać działać. Właściwość hidden nie będzie już mogła przyjmować wartości implicit (była używana dla widocznych wpisów dotyczących zatrzymanych edycji). Jeśli potrzebujesz tej informacji, możesz ją uzyskać za pomocą odrębnego zapytania. Dodatkowo, od teraz właściwość ta będzie mogła przyjąć wartość false dla widocznych pozycji. Dotychczas w takiej sytuacji pole nie było dołączane do odpowiedzi. [5]
• Wyżej wspomniana, bardziej efektywna metoda przesyłania zmian z Wikidanych do innych projektów zostanie wdrożona na wszystkich produkcyjnych wiki. Ponownie prosimy: jeżeli zauważysz, że zmiany z Wikidanych wyświetlają się w nieprawidłowy sposób na ostatnich zmianach lub Twojej liście obserwowanych, daj znać programistom.

Przyszłe zmiany

• Niedługo użytkownicy aplikacji Wikipedia na iOS będą mogli dostawać powiadomienia z innych wiki, również w formie push. Więcej zmian dotyczących powiadomień później. [6]
• Kod JavaScript nie będzie już w stanie odczytać wartości zmiennych wgExtraSignatureNamespaces, wgLegalTitleChars i wgIllegalFileChars za pośrednictwem obiektu mw.config. Wspomniane właściwości nie są częścią stabilnego interfejsu i nie powinno się z nich korzystać w JavaScripcie. [7]
• Zmienne wgCookiePrefix, wgCookieDomain, wgCookiePath oraz wgCookieExpiration zostaną wkrótce usunięte z mw.config. Skrypty i gadżety powinny korzystać z mw.cookie z modułu mediawiki.cookie. [8]

  • Finished preventing a case where the same sitelink could be added to two different Items (phab:T291377)
  • Continuing work on the Mismatch Finder. Currently focusing on showing the details of the mismatches to the person reviewing mismatches.
  • Continued work on not allowing two Properties to have the same label after undo/revert (phab:T289473)
  • Continuing work on improving how changes on Wikidata are propagated to Wikipedia and the other other Wikimedia projects. The new system is being rolled out to all wikis now. It should not change anything for editors and just be a technical improvement in the backend.

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 12 października, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 13 października, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 14 października (harmonogram).

• Opcja „Automatyczna numeracja nagłówków” zostanie usunięta. Aby poznać powody tej decyzji oraz dyskusję nad nią, możesz przeczytać T284921. Zmiana została już wcześniej ogłoszona. Dla osób, które chcą nadal korzystać z numerowanych nagłówków został przygotowany fragment kodu JavaScript.

• Development
  • Mismatch Finder: We are continuing the work on the review part of the system. We are now working on letting reviewers indicate if the mismatch is on Wikidata, the other database, both or neither.
  • Fixed a bug where it was possible for two Properties to have the same label in a given language by undoing/reverting an edit (phab:T289473)
  • Fixed a confusing error message that was being shown when trying to save geoshape / tabular data that doesn’t exist (phab:T285758)
  • Removing some unnecessary entity link formatting in edit summaries and special pages to improve performance (phab:T292203)
  • Fixing an issue with invalid dates that the API accepts but should not (phab:T289417)
  • Migrated all Wikimedia wikis to use the new change dispatching system. This system is responsible for notifying the other wikis about edits made on Wikidata that affect their articles so the article is refreshed and edits are added to recent changes and watchlists.

  • Mismatch Finder: We are continuing the work on the review part of the system. We are working on letting reviewers submit their decision if the mismatch is on Wikidata, the other database, both or neither.
  • In the previous week we migrated all Wikimedia wikis to use the new change dispatching system. This system is responsible for notifying the other wikis about edits made on Wikidata that affect their articles so the article is refreshed and edits are added to recent changes and watchlists. This week we monitored the new system and investigated and fixed a few issues that came up.

• Development
  • The new WDQS Streaming Updater now fully shipped to production. This will help the Query Service better deal with the amount of edits happening on Wikidata. (more information)
  • Mismatch Finder: Continuing work on the results page where mismatches are shown for review. We are focusing on showing all necessary information for a mismatch to make a good determination if it is a mismatch in Wikidata, the external source or neither.
  • Finishing the work on the new change dispatching system that improves how Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects are notified about edits happening on Wikidata that affect them. Currently tying up some lose ends.
  • Preparing for WikidataCon.

Ostatnie zmiany

• Trwają nominacje do konkursu Coolest Tool Award 2021. Możecie zgłaszać narzędzia do 27 października.

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 26 października, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 27 października, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 28 października (harmonogram).

Przyszłe zmiany

• Widok zmian pozwoli na łatwiejsze kopiowanie tekstu. Usprawnienia pozwolą na traktowanie tekstu „przed” i „po” jako osobnych kolumn, dzięki czemu nie będą się kopiowały niechciane elementy. [10]
• Zaktualizowana zostanie czcionka Liberation, używana w plikach SVG. Będzie to miało wpływ jedynie na nowe obrazki. Wariant Liberation Sans Narrow pozostanie bez zmian. [11]

Witamy w dziewiętnastym wydaniu newslettera zespołu Growth!

Celem zespołu Growth jest praca nad zmianami w oprogramowaniu, które pomogą utrzymywać nowych użytkowników w projektach Wikimedia.

Zadania strukturyzowane

Prototyp funkcji „Dodaj ilustrację”, pokazujący obraz sugerowany dla artykułu

• „Dodaj link” to pierwsze zadanie strukturyzowane zespołu Growth. Wykorzystuje uczenie maszynowe do sugerowania nowicjuszom linków do wstawienia. Zostało wdrożone na czterech Wikipediach w maju 2021 oraz na dodatkowych ośmiu w lipcu, po tym jak przeanalizowaliśmy wstępne rezultaty. Jak na razie zauważyliśmy wyższe zaangażowanie nowych użytkowników. Społeczności, które mają tę funkcję dostępną, zgłosiły wartościowe pomysły na ulepszenie jej. Będziemy nad tym pracować i skontaktujemy się z kolejnymi społecznościami w celu wdrożenia tego zadania dla nowicjuszy.
• „Dodaj ilustrację” to drugie zadanie strukturyzowane naszego zespołu. Aktualnie znajduje się w fazie rozwoju. Jego działanie polega na sugerowaniu obrazów z Commons, które mogłyby się znaleźć w pozbawionych grafik artykułach Wikipedii. Przeprowadziliśmy dyskusje oraz testy, a potem stworzyliśmy prototyp. Funkcja zostanie wdrożona najpierw w projektach, które zgodziły się na udział w pilotażu, dzięki czemu będziemy mogli ocenić, jak nowicjusze sobie z tym zadaniem poradzą. Strona projektu zawiera linki do interaktywnych prototypów. Liczymy, że podzielicie się przemyśleniami związanymi z tym pomysłem w czasie, kiedy tworzymy i testujemy wczesne wersje. Prototypy te zostały już przetestowane przez nowicjuszy – po angielsku i hiszpańsku.

Wiadomości dla wikiprzewodników

• Panel przewodnika jest dostępny pilotażowo na Wikipediach: arabskiej, czeskiej i bengalskiej. Niedługo, w ramach testów, wdrożymy go na kilku dodatkowych wiki. [12]
• Tam, gdzie funkcja jest dostępna, przewodnicy mają do dyspozycji dodatkowy filtr. Dzięki temu mogą oni monitorować aktywność swoich podopiecznych na liście obserwowanych i na OZ-etach. Ma to pozwolić na łatwiejsze wsparcie nowicjuszy. Ze względu na ochronę prywatności, z tego filtru mogą korzystać jedynie przewodnicy, którzy będą w stanie wybierać tylko użytkowników spośród swoich podopiecznych. Osoby niebędące wikiprzewodnikami nie zobaczą u siebie tego filtru. [13]

Konfigurowanie przez społeczność

• Społeczności mają teraz możliwość konfigurowania, jak Growth zachowuje się na ich wiki. Na Special:EditGrowthConfig można m.in. dodać listę wikiprzewodników, edytować szablony wykorzystywane dla sugerowanych edycji i modyfikować linki prowadzące do stron pomocy. Ta strona specjalna jest dostępna do edycji wyłącznie dla administratorów i administratorów interfejsu.

Rozwój

• Miło nam poinformować, że wszystkie wersje językowe Wikipedii mają dostęp do narzędzi Growth! Jedynym wyjątkiem jest Wikipedia po chińsku (zh) – przesądziły tutaj powody techniczne. Dziękujemy wszystkim członkom społeczności, którzy pomogli naszemu zespołowi w przygotowaniu funkcji i udostępnieniu jej na wiki. [14]
• Wiki, które miały włączone Growth, były częścią testowania A/B. Z tego powodu nie wszyscy nowicjusze mogli korzystać z udogodnień. Teraz wszyscy nowicjusze na tych 280 najmniejszych Wikipediach będą mieli dostęp do narzędzi. [15][16]
• Trwa test na angielskiej Wikipedii, gdzie narzędzia Growth są udostępniane 25% nowicjuszy. Jego wyniki staną się częścią dyskusji na temat dalszego postępowania na tej wiki.
• Teraz, kiedy Growth jest dostępne na Wikipediach, nasz zespół rozważa rozszerzenie wsparcia na inne projekty. Niektórzy wikiskrybowie wyrazili zainteresowanie funkcjami Growth. Trwa dyskusja o implementacji ich na Wikiźródłach.

  • Mismatch Finder: We finished adding “next steps” dialog and a “more info” dialog to tell users more about the import a mismatch was added in.

  • We have put a version of WBStack on wikibase.dev. We will start work to deploy to wikibase.cloud in the coming weeks.

Ostatnie zmiany

• Użytkownicy anonimowi będą teraz otrzymywać informację o nowej wiadomości w swojej dyskusji również na mobilnej wersji strony (w podobny sposób do pomarańczowych powiadomień na komputerach). Te powiadomienia będą wyświetlane na każdej stronie spoza przestrzeni głównej oraz przy edytowaniu strony. Analogiczna ramka na komputerach ma teraz delikatnie zmieniony kolor. [18][19]

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• 11 listopada około 6:00 UTC Wikidane wejdą w tryb tylko do odczytu. Służy to przeprowadzeniu prac konserwacyjnych w bazie danych. Utrudnienie potrwa kilka minut. [20]
• W tym tygodniu nie będzie nowej wersji MediaWiki.

Przyszłe zmiany

• W przyszłości użytkownicy niezalogowani będą identyfikowani za pomocą automatycznie przypisanego nicku a nie adresu IP. Zmiana jest spowodowana względami prawnymi. Wprowadzone zostanie nowe uprawnienie, pozwalające na wyświetlanie adresów IP osobom tropiącym wandali. Więcej informacji o propozycji znajduje się na osobnej stronie. Ostatnie zmiany

• Większość błędów przesłania dużych plików, które miały komunikat typu stashfailed albo DBQueryError została naprawiona. Dostępny jest raport ze zdarzenia.

Problemy

• Czasami edytor wizualny na urządzeniach z iOS traktuje grupy liczb jako numery telefonów i dodaje do nich linki. Wynika to z zachowania systemu operacyjnego. Ten problem jest w trakcie rozpoznawania. [21]
• W zeszłym tygodniu był problem z wyszukiwarką. Ze względu błędu w konfiguracji, przez 2 godziny większość zapytań nie była obsługiwana poprawnie. [22]

• Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 16 listopada, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 17 listopada, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 18 listopada (harmonogram).

Problemy

• Wersja 1.38-wmf.11 MediaWiki była planowana do wdrożenia na kilku wiki w zeszłym tygodniu. Ze względu na nieoczekiwane problemy czynność tę opóźniono.

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 7 grudnia, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 8 grudnia, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 9 grudnia (harmonogram).
• Panel przewodnika jest dostępny na wszystkich Wikipediach pod adresem Special:MentorDashboard. Pozwala przewodnikom na przeglądanie aktywności swoich podopiecznych. Jest to część rozszerzenia Growth. Możesz przeczytać osobne strony o konfigurowaniu listy przewodników na swojej wiki oraz o samym panelu.
• action=ajax, poprzednik obecnego MediaWiki Action API (które powstało w 2008), zostanie usunięty w tym tygodniu. Wszystkie skrypty i boty, które go nadal używają, muszą się przełączyć na odpowiedni moduł API. [23]

Ostatnie zmiany

• Dodano obsługę zmiennej oauth_consumer w filtrach nadużyć służącej do identyfikowania zmian wykonanych przez określone narzędzie. [28]
• Gadżety mogą teraz bezpośrednio dołączać strony JSON. Oznacza to, że niektóre gadżety mogą być konfigurowane przez administratorów bez potrzeby posiadania uprawnień administratora interfejsu. Takim gadżetem jest na przykład Geonotice. [29]
• Można określać dla gadżetów akcje podczas wykonywania których mają być dostępne. Na przykład, |actions=edit,history załaduje gadżet tylko wtedy, gdy trwa edytowanie lub na stronie historii edycji. [30]

Ostatnie zmiany

• Podczas korzystania z WikiEditora (edytora wikikodu 2010) będzie można zobaczyć ostrzeżenie podczas próby linkowania do strony ujednoznaczniającej. Gdy klikniesz "Popraw link", zostaniesz poproszony o poprawę linku przez wskazanie bardziej precyzyjnego pojęcia. Dowiedz się więcej o tym zrealizowanym życzeniu z Badania Życzeń Społeczności 2021.
• Możesz automatycznie włączać subskrypcję wszystkich wątków w dyskusjach, które rozpoczynasz lub w których się wypowiadasz z użyciem Narzędzi Dyskusji. • Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 1 lutego, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 2 lutego, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 3 lutego (harmonogram).

Przyszłe zmiany

• Zmiana zapowiedziana w zeszłym roku została odłożona na później. Teraz jesteśmy gotowi, aby ją wprowadzić:
  • Grupa użytkowników oversight zostanie przemianowana na suppress. Wynika to ze względów technicznych. Zmiana nazwy dotyczy wyłącznie kwestii technicznych i nie ma wpływu na to, jak społeczność nazywa członków tej grupy. Planujemy, że przemianowanie nastąpi za trzy tygodnie. W razie jakichkolwiek obiekcji, możecie komentować na Phabricatorze. • Na anglojęzycznej Wikipedii niedawno został wprowadzony gadżet dla trybu ciemnego. Możesz go tam włączyć albo poprosić administratora interfejsu o zainstalowanie go również na swojej wiki (instrukcje i zrzut ekranu).
• Bywa, że podawana przez oprogramowanie liczba artykułów w kategorii nie odzwierciedla stanu faktycznego. Od teraz, na początku każdego miesiąca, elementy kategorii będą liczone od nowa, aby temu zapobiec. [39]

Problemy

• Zeszłotygodniowa zmiana w kodzie, która poprawiała błąd w module Live Preview mogła spowodować problemy z niektórymi gadżetami i skryptami użytkowników. • Wyczyszczenie pamięci podręcznej (purge) na stronie kategorii, która ma mniej niż 5000 elementów spowoduje przeliczenie ich od nowa. Dzięki temu użytkownicy będą w stanie naprawić sytuacje, w których licznik zawartości kategorii pokazuje błędną wartość. [40]

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 15 lutego, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 16 lutego, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 17 lutego (harmonogram).
• Funkcja rmspecials() w rozszerzeniu Filtr Nadużyć została zmodyfikowana w taki sposób, że nie usuwa już znaku spacji. Jeżeli wywołanie ma działać w taki sposób jak dawniej, funkcję rmspecials() należy objąć rmwhitespace(). Użycie funkcji można zlokalizować z użyciem wyszukiwarki na Special:AbuseFilter. [41]

Ostatnie zmiany

• Formularz na Specjalna:Nuke będzie teraz pozwalał wybrać jeden ze standardowych powodów usunięcia (do edycji na MediaWiki:Deletereason-dropdown) podczas wykonywania masowych usunięć. Było to jedno z życzeń w Badaniu Życzeń Społeczności 2022. [42]
• Wszystkie nowe konta na Wikipediach będą miały dostęp do funkcji Growth. Zachęcamy społeczności do aktualizacji swoich zasobów pomocy. Do tej pory Growth było udostępniane jedynie 80% nowych kont. Zmiany zostaną wprowadzone na wszystkich Wikipediach z wyjątkiem kilku. [43]
• Od teraz można oznaczać obrazki, które nie powinny być wykorzystywane jako miniaturki dla artykułów, np. w dymku z podglądem strony albo w wyszukiwarce. Służy do tego kod class=notpageimage. Na przykład: [[Plik:Przykład.png|class=notpageimage]]. [44]
• Zmieniony został kod HTML stron historii a także Specjalna:Wkład, Specjalna:Połącz_historie. Ma to na celu wsparcie dla grupowania zmian po dacie, jak w wersji mobilnej. Istnieje prawdopodobieństwo, że wpłynie to na działanie gadżetów i skryptów użytkownika. Lista zmian w HTML jest dostępna na Phabricatorze.

Wydarzenia

• Wyniki Badania Życzeń Społeczności zostały opublikowane. Dostępny jest również ranking zgłoszeń wraz z oceną priorytetu.

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 22 lutego, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 23 lutego, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 24 lutego (harmonogram).

Przyszłe zmiany

• Odtwarzacz plików audio i wideo zmieni się niedługo na wszystkich wiki. Stare oprogramowanie zostanie usunięte, a nowe było dostępne od ponad czterech lat jako funkcja eksperymentalna. Niektóre odtwarzacze audio w wyniku tej zmiany staną się szersze. [45][46]
• System operacyjny Toolforge zostanie zaktualizowany. Jeśli utrzymujesz jakiekolwiek narzędzia, masz dwie opcje migracji na nowszą wersję. Szczegóły, terminy i instrukcje są dostępne na Wikitech. [47]

Najnowsze wiadomości ze środowiska technicznego Wikimedia. Poinformuj innych użytkowników o tych zmianach. Nie wszystkie zmiany będą dotyczyć ciebie lub twojej wiki. Dostępne są tłumaczenia na inne języki.

Ostatnie zmiany

• Aby ułatwić filtrowanie edycji z użyciem znaczników, wdrożyliśmy listy rozwijane z dostępnymi znacznikami w odpowiednich formularzach (np. na stronie historii albo wkładu użytkownika). Było to jedno z życzeń w Badaniu Życzeń Społeczności 2022. [48]
• Przewodnicy, korzystający z Panelu przewodnika będą domyślnie widzieli w nim tylko tych podopiecznych, którzy wykonali co najmniej jedną i maksymalnie 200 edycji. Wcześniej pokazywani tam byli wszyscy użytkownicy, zarówno bez żadnego wkładu, jak i z setkami wprowadzonych zmian. Ograniczenia na liczbę edycji można regulować za pomocą opcji filtrowania zawartości panelu. Wybór filtrów będzie zapamiętywany. [49][50]
• Wewnętrzna nazwa grupy użytkowników oversight (rewizorzy) została zmieniona na suppress. Wynika to ze względów technicznych. Może być konieczna aktualizacja odwołań do tej grupy np. w gadżetach, linkach do Specjalna:Użytkownicy albo w wywołaniach NUMBERINGROUP.

Problemy

• Ostatnia zmiana w kodzie HTML stron z listami zmian powodowała problemy w działaniu czytników ekranowych. Poprawka jest w drodze. [51]

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 1 marca, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 2 marca, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 3 marca (harmonogram).

Przyszłe zmiany

• Praca z szablonami będzie prostsza. Kilka usprawnień jest planowanych do wdrożenia na większości wiki 9 marca (na angielskiej Wikipedii tydzień później). Wśród ulepszeń znajdują się: dopasowywanie nawiasów, zmiany w kolorowaniu składni, w wyszukiwaniu i wstawianiu szablonów, a także drobne zmiany w edytorze wizualnym.
• Jeżeli tworzysz szablony albo jesteś administratorem interfejsu i celowo wykorzystujesz lub nadpisujesz klasy CSS, wykorzystywane w komunikatach interfejsu (te: successbox, messagebox, errorbox, warningbox), weź pod uwagę, że zostaną one (i powiązane z nimi style) usunięte z MediaWiki. Ma to na celu przeciwdziałanie problemom, kiedy te same nazwy klas są wykorzystywane na wiki. Swoje opinie możesz wyrazić na phab:T300314.

Ostatnie zmiany

• Do aplikacji Wikipedia na Androida trafiła opcja przeniesienia paska narzędzi na dół ekranu, gdzie może być go łatwiej dosięgnąć. Zaimplementowaliśmy również tryb czytania bez rozpraszania uwagi. [53][54]

Problemy

• Między czerwcem 2021 a styczniem 2022 na wszystkich wiki wystąpił problem ze zbieraniem pewnych danych dotyczących odsłon stron. To oznacza, że statystyki są niekompletne. Aby zbadać, które projekty i regiony zostały najbardziej dotknięte, zachowamy odpowiednie dane przez dodatkowe 30 dni. Więcej na Meta-wiki.
• 10 marca wystąpił problem z bazą danych. Spowodował on że przez 12 minut wszystkie wiki nie były dostępne dla osób zalogowanych. Anonimowi użytkownicy byli w w stanie czytać strony, ale nie mogli edytować ani uzyskać dostępu do treści spoza pamięci podręcznej. [55]

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 15 marca, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 16 marca, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 17 marca (harmonogram).
• Po zastosowaniu uselang=qqx do wyświetlenia identyfikatorów komunikatów, pokazane zostaną wszystkie możliwe klucze dla zakładek takich jak „Wyświetl historię”. [56]
• Dostęp do Specjalna:Usuń wersję został rozszerzony o użytkowników z uprawnieniami deletelogentry i deletedhistory. Wcześniej strona ta była dostępna wyłącznie dla osób z prawem deleterevision. [57]
• Na stronie Specjalna:Odtwórz dla porównań i wersji będzie się znajdował link powrotny do listy wersji. [58]

• Fundacja Wikimedia poinformowała o strategii implementacji ukrywania adresów IP. Ogłoszenie można przeczytać tutaj.

Witamy w dwudziestym wydaniu newslettera zespołu Growth!

Celem zespołu Growth jest praca nad zmianami w oprogramowaniu, które pomogą utrzymywać nowych użytkowników w projektach Wikimedia.

Sugerowane edycje

Do lutego, od momentu wdrożenia tej funkcji w grudniu 2019, wykonano 300 000 zasugerowanych edycji.

Dodaj link to pierwsze oddane do użytku zadanie, dostępne od maja 2021. Polepszyło to wyniki nowicjuszy. Teraz nasz zespół pracuje nad drugim przebiegiem prac w oparciu o zdanie społeczności i analizy danych. Usprawnienia obejmą: ulepszone algorytmy generowania propozycji, ograniczniki zapobiegające dodawaniu wielu podobnych linków na raz, dodanie zachęt do kontynuowania działalności edycyjnej. Po dodaniu tych ulepszeń włączymy to zadanie w kolejnych wersjach językowych Wikipedii.

Dodaj ilustrację to kolejne zadanie strukturalizowane. Wprowadzono je w listopadzie 2021 na cztery pilotażowe Wikipedie. To bardziej wymagające zadanie dla nowicjuszy. Mimo to podnosi ono wartość artykułów (dotąd dodano ponad 1 000 ilustracji). Teraz korzystając z informacji przekazanych przez społeczności i innych danych ustalamy co należy jeszcze poprawić. Strona projektu zawiera linki do interaktywnych prototypów. Liczymy, że podzielicie się przemyśleniami związanymi z tym pomysłem w czasie, kiedy tworzymy i testujemy wczesne wersje. Wkrótce wdrożymy to zadanie na kolejne Wikipedie w ramach testu.

"Dodaj link" i "Dodaj ilustrację" od teraz mają ograniczenie ilości wykonywanych zadań na jednego nowicjusza dziennie. Służy to ograniczeniu wykonywania przez nowicjuszy zbyt wielu edycji, które mogłyby być problematyczne.

Zachęty i pochwały

Przez ostatnie dwa lata zespół Growth skupiał się nad tworzeniem systemu sugerowanych edycji, czyli łatwych zadań, od których nowicjusze mogą zaczynać. Z tego doświadczenia wynika, że te zadania pomagają wielu nowicjuszom wykonać swoje pierwsze edycje. Teraz zaczynamy prace nad nowym projektem: "pozytywne wzmocnienie". Jego celem jest sprawienie, że nowicjusze będą dumni ze swojego zaangażowania w edytowanie i będą chcieli wracać. W ramach tego projektu będziemy pracować nad:

• Statystykami wpływu: nowicjusze mogą zobaczyć ilość odsłon edytowanych przez siebie artykułów.
• Zdobywanie kolejnych poziomów : zachęcanie nowicjuszy, by przechodzili od łatwych zadań do trudniejszych.
• Spersonalizowane pochwały: zachęcanie przewodników i innych użytkowników do dziękowania i dawania odznaczeń nowicjuszom za ich dobra pracę.

Dopiero zaczynamy prace nad tym projektem i wyczekujemy przemyśleń społeczności dotyczących kierunku działań. Wiemy, że sytuacja może się pogorszyć, gdy zaoferujemy nowicjuszom złe motywacje, więc chcemy być ostrożni. Odwiedź stronę dyskusji aby pomóc kierować realizacją!

Wiadomości dla wikiprzewodników

• Panel wikiprzewodnika jest już dostępny na wszystkich wiki. Pomaga im on na sprawdzenie kto jest ich podopiecznym i śledzić ich aktywność. Aktywuje się on automatycznie, gdy stworzona zostanie lista wikiprzewodników. Jeżeli potrzebujesz pomocy w stworzeniu takiej listy, skontaktuj się z nami.
• Panel wikiprzewodnika ma nowy moduł: ustawienia. Mogą oni teraz ustawić swój status (aktywny lub niedostępny). Mogą określić ilość pytań jaką mogą otrzymywać, a także przypisać sobie wskazanego przez siebie nowicjusza. Mogą też oni wyrazić rezygnację, co spowoduje automatyczne przydzielenie ich dotychczasowych podopiecznych pozostałym przewodnikom.
• Pracujemy nad możliwością wyłączenia się nowicjusza spod opieki wikiprzewodnika (a także powrót).
• Dotychczas tabela z aktywnością podopiecznych wyświetlała ich wszystkich, niezależnie od tego, czy nie mieli żadnych edycji czy mieli dużo edycji. Teraz jest to zmienione, więc domyślnie pokazywani są nowicjusze mający od 1 do 500 edycji. Te wartości można zmieniać w filtrach.
• Pracujemy nad stroną specjalną pozwalającą łatwo zapisać się jako wikiprzewodnik.

Niektóre wiki stworzyły userboksy, które wikiprzewodnicy mogą umieścić na swoich stronach użytkownika. Jeżeli takie są na twojej wiki, powiąż je w Wikidanych!

Skalowanie

Dotychczas, w większości wersji językowych Wikipedii, tylko 80% nowicjuszy otrzymywało narzędzia Growth. Było tak, aby przeprowadzić eksperyment i mieć podział na grupę kontrolną. Zmieniliśmy to już. Teraz 100% nowych kont we wszystkich wersjach językowych Wikipedii dostaje funkcje Growth (z wyjątkiem kilku wiki pilotażowych). Zachęcamy do uaktualnienia lokalnej dokumentacji na wiki. Prosimy wspomnieć w niej o narzędziach Growth. Aby to ułatwić, stworzyliśmy stronę pomocy, którą można przetłumaczyć i dostosować do specyfiki danej wiki.

  • Lexicographical data: We're continuing with the work on the new Special:NewLexeme page. We worked on saving a valid new Lexeme with the new page. We are now focusing on the suggesters for language and lexical category so editors can select the right Item for them.
  • Data Reuse Days: We ran sessions on how to use Wikidata's data programmatically and the best practices around it. Slides and videos are available already (see above).
  • REST API: Continuing coding on the basic version of the GET Item endpoint. We have the very initial version of the get item endpoint ready and are now adding more parameters to it.

• Development
  • Lexicographical data: Continued work on the new Special:NewLexeme page and focused on displaying sensible error messages if an error occurs during Lexeme creation. We're also working on adding a dropdown for the language variant.
  • REST API: Continued work on conditional requests and authorization
  • Made use of the new fields added in the wbsearchentities API and added language information to the markup of entity searches that you see when editing a statement or searching with the little searchbox at the top of the page on Wikidata. Now these search results should make a bit more sense to people who use screen readers.
