Stowarzyszenie Wikimedia Polska (Wikimedia Polska Association) is a membership organization created to promote and support the projects of the Wikimedia Foundation and to foster the community of those projects. The association's goals include equal access to knowledge, promoting free licenses and supporting the growth of the Wikimedia Foundation, which runs Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and other projects.

The idea of establishing an association was first proposed by Dariusz Siedlecki, on April 23, 2005, when a discussion page was created on the Meta-Wiki of the Wikimedia Foundation.

During the Wikimedia Polska Meetup 2005 in Cracow on August 13-14, 26 founding members accepted the bylaws and elected the Association's authorities.

The association has been registered on November 15, 2005.
