  • Mismatch Finder: We are continuing the work on moving the tool over to the new design system Codex
  • We adjusted the styling for the values of monolingual text statements to make the language easier to distinguish from the value (phab:T280774)

Ostatnie zmiany

• Odstęp między akapitami w Wektorze 2022 został powiększony (z 7 do 14 pikseli) i odpowiada teraz wielkości czcionki. Pozwoli to na łatwiejsze rozróżnienie akapitów od zdań wewnątrz nich. [1]
• Funkcja „Domyślnie sortuj tę stronę jako” w edytorze wizualnym znowu działa poprawnie. Nie trzeba już przełączać się do widoku edycji kodu źródłowego, aby edytować słowo kluczowe {{DEFAULTSORT:...}}. [2]

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• W tym tygodniu nie będzie nowej wersji MediaWiki. [3][4]
• Od 6 grudnia, u osób, które mają włączoną opcję „Pokaż aktywność wątków dyskusji”, zostaną aktywowane ulepszenia stron dyskusji na stronach zawierających magiczne słowo __NEWSECTIONLINK__. Jeśli wystąpią jakieś problemy, prosimy o zgłoszenie ich na Phabricatorze.

Przyszłe zmiany

• Proces zamykania Grid Engine na Toolforge rozpocznie się 14 grudnia. Opiekunowie narzędzi korzystających z tego starego środowiska powinni do tego czasu zaplanować migrację do Kubernetes albo podać w odpowiednim dla swojego narzędzia zadaniu na Phabricatorze plany migracji. [5]

• Na Wikimedia Commons wprowadzono drobne poprawki w interfejsie użytkownika w kroku dotyczącym swojej lub nieswojej pracy przy przesyłaniu plików. This is part of the Structured Content team's project of improving UploadWizard on Commons. [6][7]

Problemy

• There was a problem showing the Newcomer homepage feature with the "impact module" and their page-view graphs, for a few days in early December. This has now been fixed. [8][9]

• Następne wydanie Wiadomości technicznych zostanie rozesłane 8 stycznia 2024 z powodu sezonu bożonarodzeniowo-noworocznego.

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 19 grudnia, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 20 grudnia, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 21 grudnia (harmonogram). W przyszłym tygodniu nie będzie nowej wersji MediaWiki. [12][13]
• Począwszy od 18 grudnia, nie będzie możliwe aktywowanie Dyskusji strukturyzowanych (Flow) na własnej stronie dyskusji, korzystając z menu funkcji eksperymentalnych. Ustawienie to pozostanie dostępne tylko dla osób, które będą chciały dezaktywować tę funkcję na swojej stronie dyskusji. Jest to część prac związanych z końcem wsparcia dla Dyskusji strukturyzowanych. [14]
• Przekierowania w przestrzeni Moduł będą w pełni wspierane. Funkcja „Przenieś” utworzy odpowiednie przekierowanie w miejscu źródłowej strony i takie przekierowania będą odpowiednio rozpoznawane przez oprogramowanie (np. ukrywane na Specjalna:Niepołączone strony). Ręcznie tworzone przekierowania również będą obsłgiwane. [15]

Przyszłe zmiany

• Dokumentacja JavaScript MediaWiki zmieni swój format. W czasie transformacji, możliwe będzie czytanie starszej formy, poprzez wybór wersji 1.41. Opinie o nowej stronie można zgłaszać na stronie dyskusji projektu.
• Wishathon to nowa inicjatywa, która ma zachęcać do współpracy w społeczności Wikimedia, w celu opracowania rozwiązań dla życzeń zbieranych w Badaniu Życzeń Społeczności. Pierwszy Wishathon odbędzie się w dniach 15–17 marca. Zainteresowanych propozycjami projektów (użytkowników, programistów, projektantów i liderów) zapraszamy do rejestracji na wydarzenie i po więcej informacji.

• New request for comments: Community request for the development team to access inverse properties on client wikis. (Summary: We currently cannot access inverse property values on Wikipedia. This can be a data management issue on Wikipedia as we must always ask ourself if we must introduce an inverse property for cases where we need them. So I think it’s useful to gather the usecases community would want and draft a request for an API to the devteam to do that.)

• Strony o modelu zawartości JSON będą teraz wykorzystywać znaki tabulacji zamiast spacji do robienia wcięć. Znacząco ograniczy to rozmiar stron. [19]
• Gadżety i skrypty użytkowników mogą teraz wykorzystywać nowszą składnię JavaScript, wprowadzoną w ES6 (znane też jako „ES2015”) oraz w ES7 (również „ES2016”). MediaWiki dokonuje walidacji kodu źródłowego, aby chronić resztę funkcjonalności strony przed błędami składniowymi oraz by upewnić się, że skrypty będą poprawnie zinterpretowane we wszystkich wspieranych przeglądarkach. • Od 17 stycznia, nie będzie możliwe logowanie się na wiki Wikimedia z niektórych starszych wersji przeglądarki Chrome (wersje 51–66, wydane w latach 2016–2018). Ponadto, użytkownicy iOS 12 i Safari na macOS 10.14 będą musieli się logować na każdą wiki oddzielnie. [25]
• W zeszłym roku moduł jquery.cookie został uznany za przestarzały i zastąpiony przez mediawiki.cookie. Ostatnio uruchomiono skrypt, który zastąpił wszystkie istniejące do tej pory wywołania starszego modułu. W tym tygodniu usunięty zostanie tymczasowy alias. [26]

• IP Masking: We are continuing to adapt Wikibase to the upcoming IP Masking feature. We worked on hiding warnings about IP addresses being saved when they don’t apply (phab:T353807, phab:T352006) and creating temporary accounts when editing (phab:T354730)

• Od poniedziałku, 29 stycznia, znaczniki czasowe w komentarzach na stronach dyskusji będą linkami, stanowiącymi trwały odnośnik do danego komentarza. Pozwoli to użytkownikom znaleźć wypowiedź, której szukają, nawet jeśli zostanie przeniesiona w inne miejsce. Zostanie to włączone na wszystkich wiki, oprócz angielskiej Wikipedii. • Strony historii na urządzeniach mobilnych korzystają teraz z tego samego kodu HTML, co na komputerach. Jeśli zauważycie jakieś problemy z zachowaniem tych stron na telefonach, dajcie znać w zadaniu na Phabricatorze.
• Na większości wiki administratorzy mogą teraz blokować użytkownikom wykonywanie konkretnych działań. • Zachęcamy 24 Wikipedie, które korzystają z Reference Tooltips jako domyślnego gadżetu, do tego by ustawiły go jako niedomyślny. • IP Masking: We are continuing the work on adapting Wikibase for the upcoming IP Masking feature, so that IP addresses for non-logged-in users are no longer published.
• Wikibase REST API:
  • We finished the route for getting and removing a sitelink from an Item (phab:T344039, phab:T344685) and we continue work on the one for adding/ replacing and modifying a sitelink on an Item (phab:T342987, phab:T342988)
  • We now handle of case sensitive statement IDs in GET, PUT, PATCH and DELETE requests as HTTP redirect (phab:T354261)
  • We documented the differences in sitelink data structure between Wikibase REST API and Action API responses (phab:T355659)

• Eksperyment podziału grafu WDQS się rozpoczął i ma miejsce na trzech serwerach testowych. Zespół odpowiedzialny za badanie sprawdza wpływ podziału oraz prosi użytkowników usługi zapytań do Wikidanych o odzew na ten temat – zarówno osoby korzystające z interfejsu użytkownika, jak i z API. Problemy

• Z powodu błędu w oprogramowaniu, odwiedzone linki w wersji mobilnej wyświetlały się w kolorze czarnym. To zgłoszenie zostało rozwiązane.

Ostatnie zmiany

• U osób z zaznaczoną opcją „Wyślij do mnie e‐mail, gdy strona lub plik z mojej listy obserwowanych zostaną zmodyfikowane”, edycje botów nie będą już powodowały wysyłki e-maili. Wcześniej powiadomienia nie wywoływały jedynie edycje oznaczone jako drobne. [51]
• Zaszły zmiany w sposobie ładowania skryptów użytkownika i całej strony w Wektorze 2022 na niektórych wiki. Dotknęło to następujące wiki: wszystkie projekty ze starym Wektorem jako domyślną skórką oraz Wikipodróże i Wikibooks. Inne projekty zostaną dotknięte w ciągu najbliższych trzech miesięcy. Nie ulega zmianie sposób wczytywania gadżetów. Jeśli zostaliście dotknięci aktualizacją albo chcecie zmniejszyć jej wpływ na swój projekt, zajrzyjcie do zadania na Phabricatorze. Zachęcamy do podjęcia działań z wyprzedzeniem.
• Nowe automatycznie tworzone konta lokalne (tzn. kiedy odwiedzasz daną wiki po raz pierwszy) będą miały takie same ustawienia powiadomień, jak konta zakładane na danej wiki. Dotyczy to czterech rodzajów powiadomień, wskazanych w opisie zadania na Phabricatorze.
• Maksymalny rozmiar pliku, przy przesyłaniu Kreatorem przesyłania plików, wynosi teraz 5 GiB. [52]

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 20 lutego, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 21 lutego, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 22 lutego (harmonogram). [53][54]

• Wybrane narzędzia, działające na silniku Grid, zostały zatrzymane w ramach przygotowań do wyłączenia tego silnika 14 marca br. Ich kod i dane nie uległy usunięciu. Ostatnie zmiany

• Mobilny edytor wizualny jest teraz (na małej grupie wiki) domyślnym edytorem dla osób, które wcześniej nie edytowały. Badania wskazują, że osoby korzystające z tego edytora publikują większy odsetek rozpoczętych przez siebie edycji, ale są też idzie im trochę gorzej w zapisywaniu niewycofanych edycji. Ci użytkownicy, którzy wybrali edytor wikikodu jako domyślny na komputerach, przy pierwszej edycji mobilnej również zobaczą edytor wikikodu. [56]
• Pole wgGlobalGroups w mw.config zawiera teraz tylko grupy aktywne na danej wiki. Skrypty nie będą już musiały wykonywać żądania API, aby sprawdzić czy dana grupa globalna ma zastosowanie na wiki. Wystarczy przykładowy kod: if (/globalgroupname/.test(mw.config.get("wgGlobalGroups"))). [57]

Ostatnie zmiany

• Strona Special:Book (oraz powiązana funkcjonalność „Utwórz książkę”), dostarczana przez stare rozszerzenie Collection, została usunięta ze wszystkich Wikiźródeł, ponieważ i tak nie działała. Nie wpływa to ma możliwość pobrania książek, zapewnianą przez rozszerzenie Wikisource. [60]
• Wikitech korzysta teraz domyślnie z nowego parsera wikikodu – Parsoida – do przygotowywania stron w przestrzeni dyskusji. Wszelkie problemy możecie zgłaszać na odpowiedniej stronie dyskusji. Możecie wykorzystać rozszerzenie ParserMigration, aby sterować wykorzystaniem Parsoida. Więcej informacji zawarto w dokumentacji.

• Komunikat, informujący że linki językowe znajdują się u góry strony, który widniał w menu głównym w skórce Wektor 2022 został usunięty, bo użytkownicy zdążyli się nauczyć, gdzie szukać przełącznika języków. [73]
• Funkcja IP Info korzystała do tej pory z bazy MaxMind. Teraz wyświetlane będą również dane z bazy adresów IP Spur, co pozwoli zwiększyć użyteczność dla przeglądających zmiany. [74]
• Grid Engine na Toolforge zostało definitywnie zamknięte, po tym jak końca dobiegł proces migracji na Kubernetes. [75][76][77]

Problemy

Dostępne jest rozszerzenie do Google Chrome Citation Needed, które pozwala sprawdzić, czy stwierdzenie dostępne online może być podparte przypisem w artykule na Wikipedii. Jest to mały eksperyment, mający na celu sprawdzenie, czy z Wikipedii można korzystać w ten sposób. Z tego też względu, rozszerzenie działa jedynie w Chrome po angielsku.

• Pomiędzy 2 a 8 kwietnia, na wiki korzystających z wersji oznaczonych, znacznik „Wycofane” nie był dodawany do wycofanych edycji. Dodatkowo, przenosiny, zabezpieczenia stron i importowanie wersji nie były automatycznie oznaczane jako przejrzane. Ten problem został rozwiązany. [95][96]

Konfigurowanie przez społeczność

Obecnie funkcje od Growth można konfigurować na Special:EditGrowthConfig. W tym kwartale będziemy pracować nad tym, aby moduł Konfigurowanie przez społeczność był dostępny także dla innych programistów MediaWiki, wraz z przeniesieniem dotychczasowego mechanizmu konfigurowania Growth do nowego rozszerzenia CommunityConfiguration.

Wstępną wersję Konfigurowania przez społeczność można testować na Spanish Beta Wikipedia. Zamierzamy wydać nowe rozszerzenie Community Configuration na wiki pilotażowe (Wikipedia arabskojęzyczna i hiszpańskojęzyczna) na początku maja 2024. Wyniki badań

Wyniki analizy użycia funkcji Dodaj ilustrację Zespół Growth przeprowadził badanie mające na celu ocenić wpływ zadania strukturyzowanego “Dodaj ilustrację” z modułu "sugerowane edycje" ze strony domowej dla nowicjuszy. Analiza wykazała, że to zadanie spowodowało zwiększenie udziału nowicjuszy korzystających z wersji mobilnej, głównie przez wykonywanie konstruktywnych (nie wycofanych) edycji artykułów:

• Prawdopodobieństwo, że nowicjusze korzystający z wersji mobilnej dokonają swojej pierwszej edycji artykułu (+17,0% w stosunku do wartości bazowej)
• Prawdopodobieństwo utrzymania ich jako nowicjuszy (+24,3% w stosunku do wartości bazowej)
• Liczba edycji dokonanych w ciągu pierwszych dwóch tygodni na wiki (+21,8% w porównaniu z wartością bazową)
• Niższe prawdopodobieństwo wycofania edycji nowicjuszy (-3.3% w stosunku do wartości bazowej)

Wyniki eksperymentu ze spersonalizowaną pochwałą

Ta funkcja została stworzona dla Przewodników jako część projektu Pozytywne wsparcie zespołu od Growth. Podczas testów A/B na hiszpańskojęzycznej Wikipedii odkryliśmy, że nie wpłynęło to na zatrzymanie nowicjuszy na dłużej, ale znaczny pozytywny wpływ na produktywność nowicjuszy. Mimo to wywnioskowaliśmy, że te wyniki nie są na tyle optymistyczne, aby wyrównywały czas poświęcany przez mentorów. Planujemy przedyskutować o tej funkcji z naszymi wiki pilotażowymi oraz rozważyć dalsze ulepszenia zanim rozszerzymy zakres jej działania. W międzyczasie wiki, które chcą testować te funkcję mogą prosić o jej włączenie. (T361763)

Zachęcanie anglojęzycznych darczyńców to podjęcia próby edycji

Podobnie jak w latach poprzednich, darczyńcy byli kierowani do strony z podziękowaniem po dokonaniu wpłaty (przykład). Jednakże w tym roku przetestowaliśmy wezwanie do działania “Spróbuj swoich sił w edytowaniu Wikipedii,” na stronie z podziękowaniami. To przesłanie zawierało link do specjalnie zmienionego formularza rejestracyjnego. Umożliwiło nam to śledzenie rejestracją i włączanie się do aktywności (wykonywanie pierwszych edycji). Podczas anglojęzycznej kampanii bannerowej, strona z podziękowaniami dla darczyńców skutkowała utworzeniem 4398 nowych kont, z czego 441 zaczęła edytować konstruktywnie w ciągu 24 godzin. (T352900)

Planujemy przeprowadzić test A/B związany z dodaniem nowego modułu na stronę domową dla nowicjuszy, konfigurowalnego przez społeczność, który pozwoli społeczności wyróżnić wybrane wydarzenia, projekty, kampanie i inicjatywy. Jesteśmy na wczesnym etapie projektowania. Najpierw zostanie wdrożony on na wiki pilotażowe i inne chętne do testowania. Zapraszamy do zgłaszania sugestii dotyczących projektów i planów, w dowolnym języku, na stronie dyskusji.

Ostatnie zmiany

• Wygląd stron dyskusji zmienił się na wszystkich wiki, oprócz Commons, Wikidanych i większość Wikipedii (kilka już wcześniej otrzymało tę zmianę). Więcej informacji o zmianach znajduje się na Diffie. Jest możliwe, by zrezygnować z nowego wyglądu stron dyskusji, w tym celu należy udać się do preferencji i przełączyć opcję „Pokaż aktywność wątków dyskusji”. Na pozostałych wiki wdrożenie odbędzie się w nadchodzących tygodniach. [118][119]
• Administratorzy interfejsu mają teraz większą kontrolę nad stylami komponentów w wersji mobilnej. Dzięki wprowadzeniu rozszerzenia SiteAdminHelper, część wbudowanych stylów będzie mogła zostać wyłączona. Więcej informacji znajduje się na stronie rozszerzenia. [120]

• Od 21 maja angielska i niemiecka Wikipedia będą mogły aktywować zadanie „Dodaj link”. Jest to częścią stopniowego wdrażania tego narzędzia na wszystkie Wikipedie. Społeczności mogą aktywować i skonfigurować tę funkcję lokalnie. [125]

Tool of the week

• Wikidata periodic table - Tool by User:Ricordisamoa, to browse all chemical elements available on Wikidata, with atomic number, chemical symbol, and localized label. It also includes two charts of the nuclides, with links to every isotope in Wikidata, colored by half-life or decay mode.

Other Noteworthy Stuff

• A new UI mode is available for the online validator for EntitySchemas. It represents validation reports as a table rather than a very long string, and replaces most links with hyperlinks with some of the text behind them; making them easier to read. Currently being tested at https://shex-validator.toolforge.org/packages/shex-webapp/doc/shex-simple-improved.html, we are looking for participants to evaluate this tool.
